Renew
A 6-month, one-on-one coaching program for burnt out creatives who want to get back to their art ASAP.
Join the waitlist for the March 2025 intake of Renew and get $100 off!
The waitlist is no-obligation – by adding yourself to the waitlist you are NOT committing to enrolling in the program.
You believe in yourself as an artist (or writer, musician, performer, designer, etc.).
Sure, you struggle with self-doubt same as anyone, but if you’re really honest with yourself, you know you’re capable of making the kind of art that will lead to a successful career – it’s just a matter of when.
In fact, although you would probably never say this out loud, you can actually see yourself holding your future bestseller in your hands, or having your art launches sell out within minutes, or performing to packed rooms on sold-out tours.
And this vision of your future used to feel so certain. You knew it was only a matter of time – of doing the work, putting up with your day job, and staying the course.
But now, you’re too exhausted to even write a single word, make a single mark on canvas or play a single note.
Burnout has you so firmly in its grasp that you no longer seem able to create.
Of course, you try to summon the energy to drag yourself to your work, but even when you manage that, you almost never actually create.
In fact, it feels like the more you try to make yourself create, the less able you are to get off the couch.
And as time goes by, that shining vision of success slips further and further away. And your day job, which was only supposed to be temporary, starts to look more and more like a life sentence.
It’s all so fucking frustrating.
ALL you want to do is create the art that’s going to get you to where you know you could go – if you could just have your energy back!
And it’s not like you haven’t tried to fix this; you have. You’ve taken time off from your art, thinking that would help you come back refreshed, but nothing has really changed.
You’ve also done your research: you’ve read a bunch of articles and listened to several podcast episodes about creative burnout (including a few of mine!).
And from your research, you understand that recovering from burnout won't be a quick fix (though you wish it was, because you’re dying to get back to creating as soon as possible!!).
You also get that you’ll need to make changes to the way you create and care for yourself, AND that there’s going to be a certain amount of experimentation involved to hit on exactly the right solution for you.
AND you’re exhausted – you don’t want to have to spend your time and energy becoming a creative burnout expert so you can figure out how to recover. All you want to do is focus on your art.
So, you need someone to show you how you can find the energy to get back to creating ASAP.
You need someone to understand who you are as a creative and as a person, and what you’re juggling in your life, and to plan the shortest possible path out of burnout.
And then, you just want to be guided through it one step at a time, so you can focus on your art with no distractions.
I get it. I’ve been there. And I became that expert in creative burnout, so you don’t have to.
Hi, I’m Gauri, and I burnt out in 2017.
It was after a very intense year of working 14–16 hour days as a naturopath and solo business owner, trying to grow my clinical practice.
I loved what I did – it was incredibly rewarding to help people improve their health through nutritional supplementation, herbal medicine and food and lifestyle medicine.
I particularly loved holding space for people and helping them understand their bodies and their nervous systems and how to tend to themselves. And I loved seeing them get better. That’s what kept me in it for four years.
But as I cared for others, my own health was getting worse. Running a clinical practice was all-consuming and began to take its toll on me – physically, mentally, and emotionally.
As you can imagine, I didn’t write a word in those four years. My dreams of being a published fiction author gathered dust.
Eventually, I burnt out completely and had to close my practice.
I would love to say that I immediately started the work of getting myself out of burnout, but that’s not what happened.
Instead, I spent the whole of 2017 in deep denial, unable to do much more than wish I had it in me to write even a word while I sat in front of the TV like a zombie.
In fact, it was a good couple of years before I started taking my burnout seriously and giving myself the care I needed to get back to my first love – writing.
What can I say? I’m slower and more stubborn than most.
But, as I got back to writing and began to interact with the creative community again, I was amazed to find that burnout was an extremely common experience.
I was even more amazed to find that creative coaches approached it as purely a mindset issue, not the complex, mind-body health issue that it is.
So, I began helping burnt out creatives return to their art, using what I know about chronic stress, burnout and the nervous system from my time working as a naturopath.
And for the last three years, it’s been my pleasure to help creatives get back to their art.
“Gauri’s work with me led to a short story being published and a 55,000 word draft of a book.”
“Gauri’s work with me has led to a short story being published in an international anthology. Oh yeah, and a 55,0000-word first draft of a book. Not bad for a year’s effort. I highly recommend Gauri’s coaching, which is so gentle, thoughtful and impactful.”

Fee
Renew is a 6-month (24-week) private coaching program.
It includes
12 x 60-minute one-on-one coaching calls with me
Unlimited support via Slack (text and voice messaging) between calls (I respond to messages within 2 business days)
We will have one call every two weeks to keep you feeling motivated and supported, while giving you enough time to implement changes between calls.
Calls will take place via Zoom at a time that works for us both.
Exactly what will happen during the calls will differ depending on individual needs, but they will follow this general structure:
1. Catch-up: We check in about how the last two weeks have been for you and how you went with the tiny action(s) we decided on last time.
2. Discuss: We talk through some aspect of gentle creating or nervous system care that’s relevant to you and/or a barrier that you’re bumping up against (e.g. procrastination, perfectionism, your inner critic).
3. Next action: We decide on the next tiny actions you can take to get you further out of burnout.
4. Q&A: I’ll answer any questions you have (and you can always send questions on Slack between appointments!).
The details
Payment plans start at US $332.83/month for a total of US $1,997.
To make sure everyone gets the level of support they need, places in Renew are strictly limited.
Frequently asked questions
When will our calls be?
I have availability on Mondays and Wednesdays (which may be Sundays and Tuesdays in your time zone), with appointment times to suit most time zones.
If these days don’t suit you, apply anyway and we will find a time that works for both of us.
When do we start?
Once your application is accepted and you’ve paid the fee (or the first instalment of your payment plan), I’ll send you a link to book your appointments and we’ll go from there!
Do you offer payment plans and scholarships?
Making Renew financially accessible is very important to me. I offer payment plans free of surcharges to anyone who needs them.
Unfortunately, I’m unable to offer scholarships for Renew at this time.
I’m not totally unable to create, but burnout is keeping me from creating as much as I would like. Is this program for me?
Yes! You don’t have to be completely unable to create to benefit. My approach to burnout recovery will work equally well for people who can still create and people who can’t.
I’m SUPER busy at the moment, but I’m keen to finally get out of burnout and back to creating. Is Renew for me?
If you have time for two 60-minute calls a month and 15–30 minutes a few days a week to put action steps into practice, then it could absolutely be for you!
If you want to discuss the details of your situation, fill out the application form for Renew and request a free ‘vibe check’ call with me. I will always give you my honest opinion of whether Renew is right for you (even when I think it isn’t).
(Note: the application form will only become available on this page when Renew opens for public enrolment. However, one-on-one coaching spots often get snapped up by waitlist folks before I get a chance to open them to the public. So, the best way to get a spot in Renew – and access a $100 discount! – is to join the no-obligation waitlist).
I’m already exhausted and overwhelmed. I don’t want to add a bunch more stuff to my plate. Is this going to be too much for me?
I hear you. Renew is designed specifically for burnt out creatives, and our work together will be tailored to your needs, pace and capacity. You’ll only be asked to take small steps at your speed; I’ll never hurry you along or overwhelm you with information or a to-do list.
I’m not sure if this is for me. Can we chat about it?
Of course! I offer a free 30-minute ‘vibe check’ call to help you decide whether Renew is for you. I never try to convince people to sign up on these calls; my aim is to give you the information you need to make the best decision for you. You will not be asked to decide whether Renew is for you on this call – you will have 72 hours after the call to think it through.
Fill out the application form for Renew to request one of these calls.

I think this is for me but I’m not quite ready to begin right now. When will spots be available again?
At this stage, I’m not sure. It really depends on how many clients I have and where they’re at in their program (note: to give my one-on-one clients my full attention, I only work a maximum of four clients at a time).
A spot could open up within a few weeks, or there may be no availability until next year. In short, I can’t really give you an accurate estimate.
The best way to find out when a spot opens in Renew is to join the no-obligation waitlist, which also entitles you to a $100 discount on Renew.
