All you’ve ever wanted to do is make art (or write, or make music, or…)

It’s so much more than just a dream – it’s part of the very fabric of your being, almost as central to who you are as your name.

And yet… you never seem to be able to actually make yourself create.

In fact, you’d rather clean your whole house from top to bottom than sit down to your art – and you hate cleaning.

It’s also like all the planets have to align for you to create – it has to be at a particular time in a particular place – and if it’s even one minute past the time you said you would start, you throw in the towel.

If you could watch yourself from the outside trying and failing to sit down to create, it might almost be funny…except that it really isn’t.

Because inside you is an enormous, painful tension between your deeply-held identity as an artist and the frustrating reality that you never seem to create.

You’ve been living with this tension for so long that you’re starting to believe this terrible thought:

“If I can’t get myself to create, maybe I don’t truly want to be a creative. Maybe I don’t have what it takes.

This is so painful because it’s so unfair – all you’ve ever wanted is to be a creative.

And yet, you can never get yourself to create.

And it’s not like you haven’t tried to fix this. You have – over and over and over again.

You make plans. You set goals. You make colourful charts and bullet journal trackers. You try to copy+paste the routines of successful creatives and sign up for challenge after challenge. You do everything you can to get yourself to create.

And yet, you always end up self-sabotaging.

Or, you manage to create for a few days, get overwhelmed, and wind up back at square one.

The whole thing feels totally out of your control. But how can it be? Creating is a choice, right???

So why can’t you make yourself do it?

Creative, I want you to know three things:

1) There is a very good reason you can’t make yourself create

2) It’s not your fault, and

3) The fact that you aren’t creating says absolutely nothing about whether you truly want to be a creative or whether you have what it takes

Once you understand the reason you can’t create, once you know what to do about it, everything will unlock for you.

In Resolve, a 12-week group coaching program, it’s highly likely you will…

  • create more in 12 weeks than you did in the last 12 months, without self-sabotaging, feeling overwhelmed or burning out

  • be able to sit down to create consistently, even after the program ends

  • build a creative practice you won’t want to run from, that you can return to no matter what life throws at you

  • finally enjoy the peace of being a creative who actually creates

“I wrote 2 new songs, the last song I wrote was 5 years ago”

Through Resolve, I had an absolute boost in capacity and output (wrote 2 new songs, the last song I wrote was 5 years ago...), massive insights, a shift of perspective (far more compassion and less shame), motivation and strength!

I think you did a fantastic job not only in structure, content and expertise but also in being so considerate and caring and providing a safe space for us to share and feel seen and understood and valued. You created that space which was incredibly valuable!

And: the value of the program is far greater than the price you charge!

I'm gonna stop here but I could go on. THANK YOU <3”

MO XX, musician

Do you want to know why you can’t create?

The answer is in your nervous system.

Your nervous system’s one job is to keep you safe from threats. And it sees anything that causes you pain as a threat.

So, let me ask you this: when was the last time creating felt good?

If you’re like most creatives I’ve worked with, creating (or trying to create) has become almost exclusively painful.

Your nervous system has noticed. And, remember, its one job is to keep you safe from pain and danger.

So now, whenever you try to create, your nervous system puts you into fight-flight-freeze or fawn mode, making it impossible for you to sit down to your art.

In Resolve, we’re going to take the time to thoroughly understand this very normal AND very fixable issue.

And then we’re going to resolve it, once and for all, together.

“I started a consistent practice.”

“My creative practice is a LOT healthier now.

I wasn't creating before Resolve began in any consistent way, and when I did there was a lot of procrastination, angst, and generally feeling awful (either about the lack of consistency, or lack of output, etc). I didn't have any self trust in my ability to come back to my work as it's been years since I last finished a project.

By the end of Resolve I am able to confidently judge my creative capacity each day and make adjustments without feeling nearly as much guilt or shame. I started a consistent practice again, rebuilt some of that lacking self trust, and feel a lot more regulated while creating - and know what to do if I DON'T feel regulated.

I made significant headway on outlining a new script (that I hadn't even had the idea for prior to the class), and really having a lot of fun with it thus far. It's an ongoing process, but the mindset work done in Resolve is going to set the foundation for a more sustainable and healthier creative practice moving forward.

Also, the Resolve sessions were the highlight of my week. Obviously this is challenging ongoing work, but you made sessions into a cozy, safe space & so much fun was had. I felt supported & learned so much from others as they shared about what they were working through."

Hi, I’m Gauri, and this is one of the charts I made to try and get myself to write.

Actually, this is a reproduction of the chart, because each time I couldn’t stick to my word count goal (which was EVERY time), I would rip the chart off the wall, tear it into tiny pieces and throw them in the bin, along with my faith in myself.

Maybe you can relate.

Honestly, I spent about ten miserable years desperately trying to get myself to write. Sometimes it would work for a few days, but I would inevitably get overwhelmed and return to what seemed to be my default state – a writer who never writes.

The fact is I was terrorising myself with my word count goals, so much so that I would dissolve into a puddle of anxiety every time I tried to write.

And it wasn’t until I started understanding, befriending and caring for my nervous system – using everything I knew as a naturopath (a healthcare practitioner who uses herbs, nutritional supplements and diet and lifestyle medicine to improve health) – that everything shifted for me.

My inner critic quieted down. Perfectionism dropped away. I stopped needing to procrastinate.

I started writing more consistently and with an ease that stunned me.

And then, before I knew it, it had finally happened: I, the person who had written almost nothing for 10 years, was writing most days.

I was finally, finally a writer who actually writes.

As a creative wellbeing coach, I’ve been showing creatives how to care for their nervous systems and helping them sit down to their art for four years.

And I would love, absolutely love, to help you finally make the art you were born to make.

“I AM SO GRATEFUL”

"The validation you consistently gave us, week after week, was probably the most profoundly impactful aspect of the whole program.

I loved how NORMAL you made us feel. That finding it difficult or painful to create (no matter how many times you've tried and failed) is expected, common, reasonable, logical.

I also loved the safety you created within the group and how easy it was to share in such an intimate space. And lastly, I loved your anti-capitalism and anti-hustle culture comments and that you highlighted the immigrant/BIPOC narrative.

You're the best, and please keep doing what you're doing. You're paving the way for BIPOC creatives and fostering a safer space for them and I AM SO GRATEFUL."

In Resolve, you will be supported to build a creative practice you never want to avoid

You will

  • understand exactly why it’s so hard to sit down to create (and why you deserve your own compassion)

  • know exactly what to do about it

  • be supported to build a creative practice you can follow no matter what, and

  • do this in community with other creatives who are all striving to be the creators they dream of being

Who is this for?

Resolve is for anyone who dreams of being a creative but can’t seem to make themselves create.

It’s for writers, artists, designers, musicians, actors, comedians, content creators, creative entrepreneurs – basically anyone who creates anything.

If you

  • are tired of trying and failing to create and are ready to solve the problem once and for all

  • struggle with perfectionism, procrastination and/or your inner critic, and

  • want to be part of a community of creatives who are keen to support each other as they work through these issues

…then I invite you to join Resolve.

“I’m not sure I can fully articulate how helpful I found Resolve.”

“Before Resolve I was unable to even sit in my creative space without feeling dysregulated, which was very difficult and painful.

I had made writing feel unsafe, and I feel that the course not only offered me that insight but showed me ways to begin to make my creative practice feel safe again.

I’m now able to sit in my creative space and write regularly without feeling myself become dysregulated. If I do, I’m able to use the tools learned in the course.

By starting to work with the strategies in the program, particularly those around deciding on my creative capacity and working to it, I feel like I’ve started to heal my relationship with my creative work."

The details

Program structure

Resolve is a 12-week group coaching program.

It includes

  • 12 x 60-minute live group coaching calls

  • Access to a private Slack channel

We will have one call a week via Zoom to keep you feeling motivated and connected.

You are, of course, free to attend as many or as few calls as you like.

You also have full choice over how (and whether!) you show up to the live calls: camera on/off, mic on/off, participating fully or observing only.

Recordings will be available for all calls.

Topics

Topic 1: The neuroscience of never creating
Topic 2: Creating safety in your practice
Topic 3: Let it be bad: shifting perfectionism
Topic 4: Good enough: neutralising your inner critic
Topic 5: Nothing to avoid: overcoming procrastination
Topic 6: The comeback: how to get back to your art when life happens

Structure

This is the general structure we will follow:

  1. Welcome and nervous system regulation practice (10–15 mins)

  2. Topic discussion (20–30 mins)

  3. Self-reflection and Q&A (20–45 mins)

  4. Closing (5 mins)

Our first coaching call will be at 10 am on Monday 3 February 2025, Australian Eastern time (Sunday in the US/Canada – check the FAQs for a translation to your time zone!).

In Resolve, you will also get…

Access to a private Slack channel where you can connect with the other amazing creatives in your cohort, giving and receiving support as you walk this path together.

I will actively monitor the group, so this is a great way to get your questions answered by me between calls.

If you want even more support from me, consider the…

VIP upgrade (only 4 spots available!)

Add 6 x 60-minute private coaching calls with me (one every 4 weeks).

If you want the maximum level of support as you get creating again, with advice specifically tailored to you, the VIP upgrade is for you.

In these calls we can work through anything affecting your ability to create, as well as ways to take care of your nervous system and make creating easier outside of what we cover in the group calls.

You will notice that there are 6 calls – half will take place during the main program, and half will take place after the program finishes. This is a great option if you want support to really solidify your creative practice after the group program ends.

Within the 6-month timeframe, it’s also highly likely that life will get in the way of your creative practice at some point. So, the VIP upgrade will give you a chance to get back on the wagon with support, so that you know exactly how to get back to creating again whenever life gets in the way.

Frequently asked questions

When will the calls be?

Because my clients are typically Americans, Canadians and Aussies, at the moment I plan to hold the calls at 10 am on Mondays, Australian Eastern time. (That being said, if enough UK and European folks sign up for Resolve, I will add a second call time.)

Here’s when that is in different time zones:

PDT: 4 pm on Sundays
EDT: 7 pm on Sundays
BST: midnight on Mondays
CEST: 1 am on Mondays
IST: 4:30 am on Mondays

You can also use this time zone converter to figure out exactly when that will be for you.

A recording will be available for anyone who can’t attend live.

Is it still worth it if I can’t make it to the live calls?

Absolutely! Even if you can’t attend the calls, you’ll gain so much just from watching the recordings. And you can still interact with me and the community through our shared Slack channel.

Do you offer payment plans and scholarships?

Making Resolve financially accessible is very important to me. I offer payment plans free of surcharges to anyone who needs them.

I also reserve a limited number of scholarship spots within Resolve. These are for creatives who are keen to do the group program, but whose access to food, housing or medical care (for themselves or their family) would be affected if they paid full price.

If you’re interested in one of these spots, please email me at hello@gauriyardi.com.

Note: Scholarships are not available for the VIP upgrade.

I’m SUPER busy at the moment, but I’m keen to finally get creating. Is Resolve for me?

If you have time for at least two 60-minute calls a month (attending live or watching the recordings) and at least 5–10 minutes several days a week for creating, then it could absolutely be for you!

I’m burnt out. Is Resolve suitable for me?

Resolve is not a burnout recovery program. I recommend not signing up for Resolve and waiting for my 24-week group program, Creating Energy, to open for enrolments in May 2025. Creating Energy will cover much the same ground as Resolve with tons of added support to help you recover from burnout.

Most creative challenges and programs I’ve tried have ended up being too demanding. Is this going to be too much for me?

I hear you – many challenges and programs go WAY too hard and demand way too much of you. Not only is this demoralising when you inevitably can’t meet the goals/requirements, but it can burn you out and make things worse.

Resolve actively resists hustle creativity culture. You will be supported to set your own goals that are easy to achieve, flexible and feel good to you.

There isn’t a ton of homework in Resolve, and all homework is optional, doable and can be adjusted to suit your capacity.

Although I do recommend attending as many calls as you can (live, or watching the recordings), if life happens and you have to drop off, in just the first two calls you will learn a ton that will help you get creating again.

Plus, you’ll have access to all the recordings for six months, so you can always catch up!

Is the program going to be super science-y?

We will definitely go through a bit of science as it’s necessary to understand how your nervous system works. But don’t worry – the content will be easy to follow, accessible and practical, with no unnecessary jargon or abstract concepts.

In case it helps with your decision, I have years of experience translating complex scientific concepts into engaging content for non-science-y folks. I did this all the time in my naturopathic practice, in my day job as a medical writer and continue to do it in my creative coaching sessions.

Is it OK if I don’t join the Slack channel?

Absolutely! Everything in Resolve is 100% optional. If it would serve you better to focus on yourself and not interact with others outside the calls, that’s totally fine!

I’m considering VIP but I don’t know if it’s for me. Can we chat about it?

Of course! I offer a free ‘vibe check’ call to help you decide whether private coaching is for you. I never try to convince people to sign up on these calls; my aim is to give you the information you need to make the best decision for you.

To request your free ‘vibe check’ call, fill out the application form for Resolve VIP. (Note: the application form link will only become available when enrolments open to the public. To get first access to a VIP spot, click the button below to join the waitlist).

When do we start?

The program starts on the Monday 2 February, 2025 (Sunday in many parts of the Northern Hemisphere).

I would love to help you live the creative life you’ve imagined.

Enrolment closes at the end of January 2025.

I look forward to welcoming you into Resolve!
